Progenitor’s egg
Composed of a series of various sized suspended bioplastic eggs with light and fetal forms held within. The biomaterial is composed of gelatin and carrageenan, which are biopolymers derived from animals and algae respectively. The primordial egg is a microcosm which creates an ecosystem for all life in its beginning cellular stages, providing a home in which all necessary nutrients are funneled and stored for the fetus to gain enough strength to emerge. The egg is the realm in which all living beings are unified prior to differentiation. Through relating to our common form, I can only hope to highlight our unity and adapt to our changing ecosystem with more care.
medium: gelatin, carrageenan, spirulina, fishing wire, lights, knit textile, stripped electrical cables
